DO YOU SPEAK TERPENESE?

The interesting aromas and flavours we experience when we consume cannabis are all thanks to terpenes. These clever little aromatic molecules are developed inside the cannabis trichomes (little "hairs" found on the surface of the plant) and are influenced by many factors such as climate, age, soil type etc. Each cannabis strain has its own unique aroma because it has its own distinct terpene content. Terpenes also support other cannabis compounds in producing desired effects and potential health benefits.

LIMONENE

Limonene is the second most abundant terpene in all cannabis strains, giving it a citrusy smell that resembles lemons. Found in strains such as Super Lemon Haze, Jack Herer and Sour Diesel, this lemony terpene is great for both stress relief and uplifting your mood.

MYRCENE

Myrcene, another clever little aromatic terpene, is one of the most abundant terpenes found in cannabis. Also present in other plants and fruits such as lemongrass, parsley, hops and mango, this accomplished terpene has a long history of use for its sleep, anti-anxiety and pain-relieving properties.

Cannabis strains with high levels of myrcene are often described as tasting earthy and spicy with sweet undertones of ripe mango and other fruits. Found in strains such as Blue Dream and White Widow, this terpene is believed to facilitate a much more powerful high.
